Begin: Ages 16 – 23 months by October 1
In the Beginners program, for children ages 16 – 23 months, we focus on nurturing each child’s sense of wonder, security, and connection. This is where they first experience the joy of being part of a community, surrounded by caring teachers who provide a safe and loving environment. Through sensory exploration, simple routines, and guided play, children begin to discover the building blocks of communication, empathy, and trust. They learn how their actions—like sharing a smile, taking turns, or helping a friend—can make
their small world brighter. In these early moments, we lay the foundation for a lifetime of growth, preparing children to take their first steps toward becoming compassionate contributors to a better world.
Classroom activities include:
• Early fine motor skills development, such as basic hand-eye coordination activities
• Exploring sounds and language through singing and storytelling
• Foundational social skills, by encouraging parallel play
• Sensory exploration and curiosity through hands-on activities
• Basic problem solving, through toys such as stacking rings or push-and-pull toys
• Introduction to routine and structure e.g., circle time and clean up
• Gross motor development on indoor and outdoor play equipment
